Description Quantum Junction
We are often asked why we explain the joke in the product text for many nerd shirts, even though the shirt should be easy to understand. Of course, the people who are predestined for the “Quantum Junction” T-shirt are usually also the ones who understand and find it funny right away. But there are also, for example, the dear grandma who wants to buy something for her nerdy grandson or the bank clerk who wants to impress his physicist girlfriend. And it is exactly for these people that we roughly explain what each article is about.
In this case, the T-shirt shows a street sign, the speed of light, and the instruction to drive in both lanes at the same time. This is a reference to the behavior of light in the double-slit experiment, in which a light particle called a photon is shot at two slits. Instead of choosing one of the slits, it can, under certain circumstances, happen that the photon goes through both slits at the same time! Applied to our street sign, a car would have to be on both lanes at the same time – which, unlike the experiment, would be both impossible and extremely dangerous. ;)
