A simple card game can often still be the best way to pass the time. For example, when external influences push you towards analog amusement. Like lame university computers, power cuts, camping vacations...
However, you can even make a normal card game geeky, as the developers of code:deck, who all have an IT background, show. :)

Each of the 55 cards, which are available in either poker format (6.6cm x 8.9cm) or bridge format (5.7cm x 8.5cm), contains its very own code, which looks like this for the King of Spades, for example (without spaces, of course):

Of course, it can also be a little more sophisticated than HTML, the following languages are included in the deck: Assembly, Bash, C++, Brainfuck, Python, Objective-C, C#, Java, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, SQL and HTML. (And yes, we realize that these are not all programming languages. But Programming, Stylesheet, Database, Markup Language Card Game would just be a terrible name. ;)

Of course, normal people can also play, because the cards indicate the respective value at the top and bottom just like regular playing cards. And maybe one or the other will learn something about programming. The back is plain black and shows the code:deck lettering.
In addition to the regular cards from 2 to Ace, the set contains three jokers, which incidentally reveal the most important information about the manufacturer ;) This means you are equipped for all standard card games and perhaps a few new self-developed ones.

Einen Stern weniger gibt es aufgrund der durch das Ausstanzen etwas unsauberen Kanten, da das Spiel so weniger hochwertig wirkt. Der Karton ist mit nur etwa 0,3mm Stärke etwas dünn und eignet sich eher für vorsichtiges Spielen abseits von Theken. Der Druck ist dafür einwandfrei und das subtil hinterlegte geometrische Muster sieht toll aus. Außerdem ist die Idee clever, der Preis fair und der Detailgrad hoch. :)
