Anyone who spends a lot of time at the computer knows how important it is to optimize their working and gaming environment. This also includes a particularly good keyboard. One like Das Keyboard 4, which was developed for all those who place particular value on workmanship and comfort. As an addition to the well-known and successful Model S series, Das Keyboard 4 has been improved in terms of design and function. Dedicated multimedia keys, an elegant aluminum design and 2 USB 3.0 ports extend the well-known successful model.

The keyboard is available in different variants, if you like also in the labeled professional version. However, the most important difference between the models is invisibly built into the keyboard, where the famous Cherry MX switches determine how the keys feel when typing and whether the keyboard is quiet or rather loud, for example:

Clicky with Cherry MX Blue switches: tactile* (tactile) switching points, loud clicks - an absolute dream for frequent typists; gamers have to practice a little first because of the pronounced transition, but will not give the keyboard away afterwards. :)

Soft Clicky with Cherry MX Brown Switches: tactile* (tactile) switching points, but silent - as a middle ground for both typists and gamers and ideal in offices where you don't want to disturb your colleagues.

No matter which switch you choose, your new Das Keyboard impresses with high-quality mechanical keys, which provide an indescribably good finger feel with gold contacts. Fatigue-free typing and gaming is no challenge for the Cherry switches.

The Ultimate version, in which almost all keys are completely black, is definitely the perfect gadget to generate amazed looks from friends. Only the multimedia keys and the standby key are printed with symbols.

The Ultimate keyboards are not only unlabeled, but are also equipped with practical multimedia keys for music control and a standby key. A large rotary control for controlling the volume enables quick and precise adjustment.

A red magnetic foot bar instead of the usual plastic levers enables the keyboard to be aligned at a 4-degree angle and offers a much more stable stand than usual.

The improved housing structure and the magnetic foot bar ensure a low-vibration typing experience.

The keyboards offered can recognize up to 6 simultaneously pressed keys when connected via USB. N-key rollover offers great advantages, especially in games, but writing homework or tax returns also becomes a pleasant task with N-key rollover.

built-in USB 3.0 ports in a 5GB/s hub ensure fast data transfer and save you having to reach under your desk.

The keyboard 4 is available in different keyboard layouts, all of which also have 5 multimedia keys: DE (105 keys), UK (105 keys), US (104 keys)

The keyboard works under any newer operating system (i.e. Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, for example). All variants have two Windows keys with their own design.

*Tactile" refers to a noticeable resistance that indicates when the switching point has been reached and the keystroke has therefore been registered. The Cherry MX Brown Switches do this almost silently, while the Cherry MX Blue Switches also make an audible click.

Als Programmierer liebe ich es!

Mein altes DAS war nun 13 Jahre alt, es war nicht kaputt, aber ich wollte mal ein neues Keyboard haben. Ausserdem bin ich nun von EU Layout auf US Layout gewechselt, dass macht mich beim tippen von Code noch etwas schneller. Vorallem ist mal wieder keine Beschriftung auf den Tasten, die genau so sinnlos wie leuchtende Tasten in RGB sind ;-) Ne, muss jeder selbst entscheiden, wer wirklich 10 Finger blind erlernen will sollte hier zugreifen.

Die unbedruckten Tasten sind natürlich geeky, aber gerade wenn man sich abgewöhnen möchte, immer auf die Tasten zu schauen, ist das natürlich toll ;-)

Ein kleines Highlight ist die mittels Magneten fixierte Tastaturanstellung in Form eines Lineals auf der Rückseite -- sehr edel. Ich benutze die Tastatur im Büro und teile mein Zimmer mit anderen Leuten. Obwohl es sich bei meinen Tasten um Cherry blue handelt, kam seitens meiner Mitarbeiter noch nicht der Wunsch auf, ich solle leiser tippen.

Vorher habe ich mit Cherry black bzw. Rubberdome geschrieben. Ich muss sagen: ab jetzt nur noch 1. mechanisch und 2. blue oder brown.
