The Chumby 8 is the latest device from Chumby, and just like his cousin, the smaller Chumby One, he is a free-standing, multipurpose device for entertainment and information – especially great in the kitchen or the bedroom.

Chumby’s special feature is that you can use the internet without the need to open up & switch on your computer. His functionality is similar to a smartphone or tablet – all you need is a Wi-Fi internet connection. With loads of apps, which you can all download on chumby.com, your Chumby will keep you up to date with all your favourite topics via the internet – but without the need for a computer!

The Chumby 8 has an 8" (800 x 600 pixels) resistive touchscreen. This means the screen responds when pressure is applied to its surface. You operate the Chumby by tapping the screen with your fingertip or a pen (not included). No keyboards, no fuss!

Even without an internet connection, the Chumby 8 is still very useful: You can connect your Chumby to your MP3/4 player, a USB dongle or memory card to play your music collection, using Chumby’s built-in stereo speakers. You can also use your Chumby as a gaming console as there are 93 different games apps! But that’s not all: There are more than 200 different types of clocks and a variety of different calendars which you can display on your Chumby. And, as he stands up, he can also function as a digital photo or video frame. Via the tons of apps, the Chumby’s possibilities for use are only as limited as your imagination (well, almost)!
